There are plenty of recipes on the internet to beat this opportunity. Among them are tips on how to soak the ill-fated gum for a while in kerosene, motor oil and even ammonia. Practice shows that these methods do not help much, and moreover entail the cumbersome act of disassembling the shock absorber spring from the car. In fact, everything is much easier to solve. We take crumbs or shavings from ordinary laundry soap, dilute it in water to the consistency of thick sour cream and load it into an ordinary medical syringe – 10, and preferably 20 cubic meters.

We jack up the car so that the wheel is in the air and the shock absorber rod sticks out as far as possible. And we process from the syringe the place of its interface with the rubber boot. The water dries very quickly, and the soap stays there turning into an excellent “grease” that eliminates button squeaking. The personal experience of car owners confirms that the shock absorber works silently and without complaints for years afterwards. A similar procedure can be performed with a still fairly normal but creaking quiet block in the suspension. But in this case it is still impossible to do without the temporary dismantling. In both cases you can use paraffin from a candle instead of soap by dissolving it in a small amount of white spirit or petrol/diesel.
