The German media published an approved draft decision of the Council of the European Union, which includes a complete rejection of cars with an internal combustion engine by 2035. According to the Handelsblatt newspaper, the EU is now introducing a total ban on the registration of new cars and light commercial vehicles that emit carbon dioxide while driving.
The only technology available for car production will be an electric car. The publication claims that the adoption of this proposal has already been practically decided, both in the European Parliament and in the Council of the EU.
Reportedly, ICE’s refusal in Europe will lead to the loss of about half a million jobs in the Old World – mainly in Eastern Europe. The vote in the EU’s governing bodies to approve the document is scheduled for May 11.
