And although BMW has suspended the supply and production of cars at Avtotor Kaliningrad, the Bavarians are honoring their warranty obligations regarding service maintenance. So the day before, they even announced another recall – it turned out that faulty seat belts were installed on some X1 and X2 crossovers.

The service promotion includes 866 BMW X1 and X2 crossovers that rolled off the line in the first quarter of 2022. Cars from a “defective” batch can be equipped with seat belts for the driver and front passenger with a damaged gas microgenerator: in the event of an accident, the occupants of the cabin risk serious injury because the device does not hold them.

In the near future, owners of potentially dangerous crossovers will be advised of the need to investigate the service of an authorized dealer. Repairmen check the seat belts and if they find a defect, they will replace them – free of charge, of course, as part of a recall.
