Unofficial “signals” about problems with the acquisition of LADA Vesta, which recently leaked through AVTOVAZ’s corporate walls, received unexpected confirmation. The factory secret was made public by the president of the Russian Association of Car Dealers (ROAD), Alexei Podshchekoldin.

According to him, only 20-30% of cars are delivered from the factory in fully equipped form to LADA brand dealers. Referring to the experience of his own car dealers, Mr. Podshchekoldin said that dealers should complete the cars at their own expense so that they can be sold to customers.

As for Vesta, the cars come from Tolyatti without the plastic instrument panel trim and ERA-GLONASS emergency warning unit. Significant interruptions in the supply of components to AVTOVAZ have been known for some time from unofficial sources. The head of the ROAD was the first to seriously address the problem.

– AVTOVAZ does not comment on the opinion of people who are far from the activities of the plant. There are new Vesta in the required quantity in the DC LADA. Problems with the delivery of individual components are quickly resolved. This situation does not affect the shipment of finished cars, one of the representatives of the auto giant’s management told the AvtoVzglyad portal in response to Podshchekoldin’s statement.

Meanwhile, unofficial information from the company came to the media that the B0 assembly line, where Renault Logan relatives used to be assembled, reached the assembly pace of the 650 Vesta in two shifts. In addition, reportedly 80% of these machines leave the assembly line not fully equipped.

At the same time, the Avtograd news public became aware of a certain meeting of the “big bosses” of AvtoVAZ, which took place on July 18, which was devoted, among other things, to the problem of oversupplying factory warehouses with incomplete vests. There, apparently, the practice of sending “incomplete” to dealers was approved, so that they retrofit them themselves.

By the way, it is possible that the lack of ERA-GLONASS blocks arose for quite objective reasons. Something can be clarified by the fact that on July 20 AVTOVAZ announced the start of a company to retrofit almost 80,000 cars of the Granta, Niva Legend and Niva Travel families with the same “SOS blocks”, produced from October 2022 to February 2023.

Recall that for this period the Government of the Russian Federation allowed car companies to produce cars without ERA-GLONASS. Owners of cars from batches produced by the factory at that time can now arrive at LADA dealerships and retrofit them with emergency warning units free of charge. It is possible that the process of stockpiling these components influenced the rhythm of deliveries of similar components to the main AVTOVAZ conveyors.
