AVTOVAZ has found a partner that will help the domestic car giant to set up production of turbocharged engines, but has encountered serious difficulties in preventing the assembly of LADA Vesta. GAC rolled out the second generation GS8 in the Russian market and Chery rolled out the all-wheel drive Tiggo 7 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the Japanese are thinking about joining the collective West and limiting the supply of new and used cars to our country. And more about the main events of the outgoing week – in the video review of the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

The news that AVTOVAZ will be allowed to suspend production of LADA Vesta indefinitely, thundered like a bolt from the blue in Togliatti. The problem is still the same: lack of components. In particular, ERA-GLONASS blocks and plastic trim of the instrument panel. According to Aleksey Podshchekoldin, head of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association, fully equipped cars today account for no more than 30% of the total volume of Western cars coming to car dealerships.

At the same time, there are rumors that AVTOVAZ plans to start production of some kind of turbocharged engine at its new plant in St. Petersburg – the plant that used to belong to Nissan. The working volume and power are known: one and a half liters and 150 forces. But the partner has not been officially revealed yet. It is believed that LADA Vesta will receive the first supercharged engine.

This week was not without “Chinese” launches. So, GAC launched Russian sales of the second generation GS8 crossover. Yes, 2 years after the premiere in China. And Chery – Tiggo 7 Pro Max with all-wheel drive. The system, which acquired the brand’s bestseller in our country, was developed by Chery engineers together with specialists from the German company ZF.

In addition, the automotive community actively discussed the news that Japan could ban the supply of cars with engines larger than 1.9 liters to Russia. That is, to join Europe, which introduced such a restriction with the 11th package of sanctions. A little later, local authorities commented on these rumors – they did not confirm them, but did not refute them either.

And one more thing, not the most joyful news: analysts have come to the conclusion that used cars in Russia continue to rise in price. According to the agency “AUTOSTAT”, the price of “beushki” has increased by another 8% over the past six months. And if you look at the year, the growth was a terrifying 16%. Today, the average cost of a used car is 1,420,000 rubles. That is 200,000 more than in July 2022.
