Modern complexes for automatic fixation of traffic violations can see cars. And thanks to the new law, they will now also learn to hear them. It seems that at such a pace things can quickly resemble a soulless piece of iron, even a sense of smell.

The State Duma approved in its first reading the bill drafted last fall by the State Duma of the City of Moscow. These are fines for violating the silence by the owners of the vehicle. The federal deputies supported the idea of their colleagues in the capital to let the local authorities “chair” in this legal area without regard to national legislation. The latter provides for a fine of 500 rubles for exceeding noise standards. Of course, this was not enough for the Moscow deputies.

Recall that the complaint of a resident of the capital unknown to the general public about noisy motorists became almost the main “trick” of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the 2021 election season. And the metropolitan Deptrans loyally produced – at lightning speed – “automatic fix sound level meters”. After some time, the Moscow Duma prepared a draft of the relevant amendments to federal legislation and submitted it to the Duma. And now it’s time to accept them.

The document approved by the deputies gives the local authorities the opportunity to independently determine the amount of the fine for increased noise of the car, depending on the type and engine power. For individuals, the penalty can be set between 5,000 and 30,000 rubles. The bill also makes it possible to solve these types of violations using automatic noise meters.
