Chinese cars conquered the domestic market, and even the most desperate apologists for Japanese and European cars began to look with interest at new items from the Middle Kingdom: rich, beautiful, available. However, there are those who have already become disillusioned with vehicles from China. And very, very seriously. Why, says the AvtoVzglyad portal.

For thirty years of market economy, the Russian driver has already become accustomed to the fact that a simple operation for repair and maintenance of a car can be performed independently: select the parts using the VIN, find instructions on the Internet and solve the problem under a mug foam in the country. Something dirty and complicated? At the gas station! And if the masters can not make repairs – welcome to the official dealer. There are spare parts, hands and special tools. But with the newfangled “Chinese” this trick will not work.

Every car, even the most reliable and resourceful, needs maintenance. And – regularly. Filters-oil-candles – if you like, annually. From time to time, due to intensive use in city traffic, problems begin in the cooling system, they heat up, and then the rubber seals begin to “sniff”, from our eternal humidity and reagents, the brakes turn sour. Clips break, plugs get lost, bolts rust. This is not even a repair – service, maintenance, as it was called in the last century. And here, in relation to the Chinese car, you need an eye and an eye.

Searching for the right part by name and the same chassis number can yield an extremely unpleasant revelation: it simply does not exist. The system finds nothing. With the stuff needed for regular maintenance, it’s still more or less: there are filters, candles are collected, lubricant is provided. But as soon as you get to the “details”, the adventures begin: a hose, a bolt or a nut, a protective cap. Where can you get them? At the confrontation there is a terrible shortage and monstrous price tags, they pick up their hands in stores, and the official dealer “looks like a beast” and offers to wait. How much is not stated.

Recently, one of the “trendsetters” arrived at the gas station with a blown valve – we will not argue about a mileage of 40,000 km, perhaps the gasket between the steering wheel and the seat is faulty – but the workshop could not immediately carry out regular operation. There is no such detail in warehouses and shelves. Can’t buy, can’t order. There are no regulations, no repair parts.

As a result, we went by the old, forgotten, it seems, unnecessary method: we went to the market and began to collect. Like in the 1990s: “hello, is there anything like that”? Of course, they took it up: after a little “editing”, the LADA Largus valve took its place and coped with the task with honors. But the fact remains: not the most difficult repair procedure on a fairly popular Chinese model could end in a dead end. Moreover, it would have ended up at the official dealer – the car had every chance of standing still for months.

When choosing design and equipment – in general, as it used to be in the pre-war era – you need to keep in mind the idea of the need for subsequent maintenance: not even repairs, but ordinary, we repeat, maintenance. Read the reviews of car owners in advance, assess your capabilities. And only then make a choice. Otherwise, along with fun for a lot of money, you can get a headache again.
