Electric motorcycle manufacturer LiveWire, a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, has announced the low-cost S2 Del Mar. The power of the electric bike is 59.6 kW with a total weight of about 200 kilograms.
The motorcycle is equipped with two universal 19-inch Dunlop DT1 tires designed for all types of roads. The steering wheel is made in the style of a tracker with a thin mosquito net. With a power of 80 horsepower, it accelerates from standstill to hundreds in 3.5 seconds. LiveWire assures that their offspring will master up to 161 kilometers without the need for recharging
The electric bike is built on the proprietary LiveWire Arrow S2 platform, designed for medium weight motorcycles. Future models on this scalable platform include an even lighter S3 and a heavier S4.
The first batch of 100 Del Mar motorcycles, called the Launch Edition and priced at $17,699, sold out in just 18 minutes. The basic version will cost $15,000, which is half the price of the company’s first electric bike. First deliveries are expected in spring 2023.
