Atelier Bentley Mulliner spoke about the growing interest in the personalization program and introduced several new options. These include 18K gold-plated air controls and three open-pore veneers. Only ten months ago, the design studio celebrated the anniversary of the thousandth project, and now there are already 1350 of them.

Mulliner shop visits have grown by 200 percent over the past two years, and Bentley now produces an average of three cars a day, with varying levels of personalization. During this time, customer needs have changed. If earlier they usually ordered two options, now they have seven. At the same time, Bentayga owners are most often interested in individual body coloring, Flying Spur buyers in veneer, and Continental GT buyers in custom parts like a carbon fiber body kit.

Last summer, the design studio celebrated another milestone – the release of the 1000th car. And only ten months later she chalked up another three and a half hundred completed orders. The latest project was the “space” Bentayga Speed. Created at the request of a Bentley dealership in Orlando, Florida, this crossover is finished in Cypress Charcoal Gray with a green sheen, paired with Quartzite Slate front and door cladding.

But this is just one of many possible combinations of exterior and interior decor – in Bentley, their number is in the tens of billions. For example, the long-wheelbase Bentayga EWB claims 24 billion combinations, while the Continental GT has 17. This includes different wheel designs, a variety of interior decor, countless seat upholstery options, personalized options such as embroidery, embossing, and extended pile body paint.

Among them are historical shades, the oldest of which dates back to the 30s of the last century. This is a Dove Gray shade from the so-called Derby era (between 1933 and 1940). In addition to this paint, the atelier’s expanded palette includes shades of Claret (created in the early 2000s specifically for two Bentley State Limousines of Elizabeth II), Old English White (dating back to the 50s of the XX century – it can be seen, for example, on the iconic R- Type Continental) and Oxford Blue (from the 1960s).

The latest addition to the Mulliner catalog is the 18k gold-plated vent knobs, reminiscent of pre-war Bentley. At first it was a feature of the Continental GT Number 9 Edition coupe, but now the option can be ordered for any model. The second innovation is an expanded range of open-pore veneers under an ultra-thin (0.1 mm instead of the usual 0.5) layer of matte varnish, which emphasizes the natural grain of the wood.

And the last. The Mulliner Personal Commissioning Guide catalog now includes nine basic designs that can be used as the basis for a future project.
