The Capital Automobile Plant has mastered the serial assembly of another model – the Moskvich 6 liftback. The ceremonial start of the production launch was given by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and General Director of PJSC KamAZ Sergei Kogogin. Now we have to wait for the start of sales, which is scheduled for the end of October.
– A year of Moskvich’s struggle for survival has shown that Moskvich is victorious. A year ago, shop premises were still empty here, today 26,000 machines have already been produced. We have gone through a period of change in all logistics, new equipment, new technology, new machines; overcome the pressure of sanctions; has overcome competition from other manufacturers, and today we can say with confidence that Moskvich has held up,” Interfax quotes Sobyanin.
It is already known that the Moskvich 6 will be offered in three trim levels and five colors: white, black, gray, blue and red. There will also be several changes: two engines, one of which is of the GDI type, a continuously variable and robotic gearbox. There are no other technical details yet, as well as pricing.
Recall that the liftback with an index of 6 is the third model in the line of the revived Soviet brand. In addition, dealers offer Moskvich 3 crossovers (from 2,220,000 rubles) and electric Moskvich 3rd (from 3,950,000). As Hans-Peter Moser, general manager of the plant, said earlier at the IMAF forum, the capital company will introduce three more new products in 2024 and one more in 2025.
