The transfer of the Renault group’s assets to the metropolitan government could be put simply: “We have decided to burn down the Renault factory.” Or – despite the absence of the Sickle and Hammer metal recycling plant in Moscow, we will transfer the equipment of the Renault scrap plant and build luxury homes on the freed up space. Instead, the transfer of the factory to the property of the Moscow government was announced. But all three options mean the same thing: the demise of the company.

From now on there will be no factory, production and cars in this place. Renault left with a light heart and an untainted reputation, but few people remember that the Renault group with a heavy heart, under pressure, became a rough appendage to the purchase of two Mistral helicopter carriers. Carlos Ghosn was categorically against working in Russia and, in protest, did not even go to the signing of the agreement and sent his deputy. The illusion that the French really need us and value our market is self-delusion. Many years of coercion, worked out as honestly as possible by the French, ended with the signing of a deed of unconditional surrender.

Before proceeding to the destruction of the Renault factory, the city authorities successfully buried ZIL and AZLK. The historical tradition of burying car factories will continue. The transfer of the French company to the Moscow authorities means that it will fall into the hands of people who have no idea about production, who do not know how to work in the real sector and who do not represent the automotive industry. That is, the microscope was handed over to the janitor in the hope of a thesis in biology. But we have China for all occasions, that will come and do everything for us, right?

It is dangerous, unprofitable and unpromising for China to import 100% of its spare parts into Russia, so that later it is dangerous, unprofitable and pointless to assemble a car from it. It does not follow from this that we will not try to lure comrades from the heavenly realm to us by promising the sweetness of the revival of the big brand Moskvich, as the excited mayor of the capital Sobyanin accidentally promised.

Mayor, why do we need Berdyansk? Let’s Italy. Why do we need the corpse of “Moskvich”? Add style and courage to baseless illusions, take a swing in Hispano-Suizu, Delone-Belleville, Isota-Fraschini, Fraser-Nash. In an effort to disguise the factory’s burial with the beautiful intent of revival, the Moscow government will be able to look quite decent for some time.

But today the Renault plant in Moscow is a final assembly site. It doesn’t even have a stamp on it. Therefore, in the event of a programmed malfunction with Moskvich or Isotta-Fraschini, it will be possible to try to control the production of irons, coffee makers or the simplest barbecue grills made of sheet steel.

But what to do with the workers, the removal of social tensions? Last time, the workers hid in the shops for several years after the closure. And even when empty concrete shops remained from the enterprise, there were several hundred people in the staff, and the shadows of the unfortunate roamed the ruined squares. But now there is no such problem. The current employees of the Renault factory in Moscow are going to Kyrgyzstan. To produce French cars in our European capital, we had to hire the proletariat in the former Soviet republic. It remains only to bring everyone home by spending money on a ticket.
