Lexus’ most compact crossover, the UX models, have undergone a planned update. Outwardly, the car, which was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show a little over four years ago, remained recognizable, but inside much changed.
The cabin has a new multimedia system with a high-resolution touchscreen. Depending on the configuration, the diagonal can be 8 or 12 inches. Finally, the touchpad was removed from the central tunnel and the area for wireless phone charging was increased. In addition, we added two USB charging ports and changed the location of the seat heating buttons.
The Lexus UX body has been made stiffer with an additional 20 welding points at the door. And the engineers have finalized the chassis and mechanism of the electric power steering. Not without electronics. For example, the systems for recognizing pedestrians and cyclists and the work of adaptive cruise control have been improved.
As for the engine range, it hasn’t changed. The line still has modifications of the UX 200 with a two-liter engine producing 184 hp (150 hp in Russia) and the UX 250h hybrid. World sales of the compact crossover, the Japanese plan to start this summer.
