— It seems to us that there is a shortage of budget sedans on the Russian market. Our plans are to somewhat correct the situation – by the end of 2023 we plan to introduce the car in this segment,” said a company representative.
Ms. Lenskikh, unfortunately, did not reveal any details about the future new product: neither the name nor technical characteristics. The only thing that can be said for sure is that this sedan will have a traditional gasoline engine. As a last resort, but unlikely given the positioning (the model is aimed at the budget segment) – a hybrid power plant. But certainly not an electric motor. Because the distributor does not yet plan to introduce electric trains to the Russian market, which was also mentioned in the interview.
By the way, the expansion of the Forthing model line will not be limited to an affordable sedan that could seriously compete with both other “Chinese” cars and the domestic LADA Vesta. By the end of 2024, Ixen Motors Rus will launch a number of new products, including a rechargeable “hybrid”. Admittedly, there are no details yet here either. It is only known that sales will start in the second half of next year.
