The second generation Volkswagen Tiguan, produced since 2016, will have a replacement in 2024. The company has so far only released the exterior and interior design of the third-generation crossover.
In terms of design, the VW Tiguan will resemble electric cars from the ID line. At least from the front. It has new swept-back headlights with LED optics, a light strip connecting them, and a small grille at the top. Most of the air enters the crossover engine through a second “grill” located underneath. A brake light appeared at the rear of the body, extending from one taillight to the other. The Tiguan lettering has been moved below the license plate and the 4Motion emblem is on the right side on all-wheel drive vehicles.
Tiguan model year 2024 has received a new infotainment system with a tablet with a diameter of up to 15 inches (in the highest trim levels), a larger digital instrument cluster with anti-reflective coating and a new head-up display. The transmission mode shift lever is located in the place of the right steering column switch. On the central tunnel there is a universal puck controller for controlling crossover options, which has its own miniature display.
Volkswagen has not yet released any details about the power sources of its new product. It is known that the new Tiguan will be built on the MQB Evo platform, which underpins many models from Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and the Ford Tourneo Connect. This means that the crossover will most likely receive gasoline, diesel and various types of hybrid installations. VW representatives promise to talk about it in detail later.
