Production of passenger cars in Russia doubled in August this year compared to August last year and amounted to 49,600 units. Compared to July this year, volume increased by 20.7%.
As TASS reports, citing data from Rosstat, 294,000 passenger cars were produced from January to August 2023, which is 9.6% less than in the same period in 2022. Truck production increased by 19.8% last month compared to August 2022 and reached 13,300 units, and compared to July 2023, production increased by 7.3%. In the eight months of this year, 101,000 trucks were produced – 10% more than in the same period last year.
Production of buses weighing more than five tons increased by 12.5% in August compared to August last year – to 1,200 units, and increased by 23.3% compared to July. From January to August 2023, 8,400 buses were produced, which is 7.7% more than in August last year. Production of buses weighing less than five tons increased by 86.3% to 2,000 units in August, which is 19.2% more than in July 2023. A total of 13,100 buses of this category were produced from January to August – 76.9% more than in the eight months of 2022.
