From last Friday through Sunday, traffic cops caught about 4,500 traffic violations using personal mobility aids (SIM). In addition, 3394 of them were found to be couriers from various delivery services. The most common offenses identified by the traffic police were: crossing a zebra crossing without getting off, crossing the lane in the wrong place, driving in violation of traffic rules, being in the lane without the purpose crossing the road and breaking the rules for driving on the sidewalk.
During the raid, police officers filed 679 protocols against SIM pilots. Among them were 39 citizens who drove individual high-power electric transport – 250-4000 W – without having “rights” of category “M”. Their equipment was taken away and fines were issued under Part 1 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The penalty for it is 5,000-15,000 rubles.
