As RBC reports with reference to a study by the audit and advisory network FinExpertiza, which was prepared based on data from the Federal Tax Service, the number of cars costing more than 10 million rubles in Russia has increased by 22% over the past year. – up to 19,800 units. According to analysts, neither the coronavirus crisis nor the sanctions, which limited Russians’ access to cars and caused a sharp increase in prices, could hinder the luxury segment.

But taxes on luxury cars grew even faster, by 31% last year to 3.34 billion rubles. The average luxury tax in 2022 was 169,000 rubles. In 2021, this was equal to 157,500 rubles. About 12,800 luxury cars are owned by private individuals and about 7,000 are owned by organizations.

The leader in the number of luxury cars is, of course, Moscow – in 2022 more than 40% of the country’s luxury car fleet (8,200 units) was registered in the capital. This is followed by St. Petersburg (2,000 cars) and the Moscow region (1,600 units), in other regions the number of luxury cars is not even a thousand units.
