As the press service of the company Soglasie reports, citing statistics on insurance business in the CASCO segment, collisions with pedestrians this year were mainly due to drivers exceeding the speed limit, inattention while driving and ignoring traffic rules in general . Pedestrians make a completely predictable mistake: they cross the road in the wrong place.
From January to August this year, 80% of CASCO insurance cases involving pedestrian collisions took place in Moscow and the Moscow region; in other regions they were much less common. As a result of most of these incidents, “horseless” road users suffered injuries of varying severity.
Men were hit by wheels more often – in more than half of the cases. Children were involved in 20% of the collisions, but no one was seriously injured or killed.
