The State Traffic Inspectorate has published statistics on accidents on the Moscow Ring Road. In the first nine months of this year, 421 traffic accidents were registered on the Moscow Ring Road, but the number of victims is steadily decreasing every year.

As the Moscow State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reports on its Telegram channel, the number of fatal road users on the Moscow Ring Road fell by 20% from January to September and amounted to 24 people. According to statistics, collisions with stationary vehicles are the most common cause of death on the Ring Road; stops, in turn, are mainly caused by car breakdowns or minor accidents.

The number of victims in accidents on the Moscow Ring Road fell by 22.8% – to 491 people. The traffic police noted that they monitor the situation on the highway in the capital 24 hours a day and, if immobilized vehicles are identified, they immediately try to remove them from the road together with city services.

Last year, the Moscow Ring Road became the most dangerous road in the capital, responsible for 4.24% of all traffic accidents in Moscow. The second place is near Mira Avenue, the third is near Varshavskoye Shosse.
