The front shock absorbers have improved rebound buffers and the adaptive rear struts are new. Two new driving modes have been invented for the hybrid: Electric and Battery Hold. The first is purely electric, where the GLE 53 can travel 80 km and only accelerate up to 140 km/h, while the second saves battery power and reduces the power plant’s output to a quarter.
