Production of the BAIC X7 mid-size crossovers has started at the assembly site of the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant. In the Russian market, the model will be offered with the only available engine.
As the Avtotor plant reports on its Telegram channel, preparations for mass production of the new model began in June. The company notes that during the final inspections, high-quality indicators of production processes and finished products were achieved, on the basis of which it was decided to start industrial production of the new market product.
The BAIC X7 is equipped with a 180 hp petrol turbo engine. s., combined with a “robot” with 7 gears and two “wet” clutches. Drive is front wheel drive. The manufacturer has not yet provided further details about the equipment of the crossover, but only indicates that it is equipped with LED optics on the front and rear.
By the end of this year, the residents of Pkaliningrad plan to master the production of seven BAIC models. In the future, the model range of the Chinese brand will be supplemented with new products with hybrid, electric and gas power stations. In addition, work is underway to organize the production of components on the territory of Avtotor.
