AVTOVAZ put the LADA Vesta Sportline on the assembly line and announced the timing of the premiere of the “sporty” Niva, and the Chinese opened sales of the electric Ora 03, the updated Changan CS95 and the hybrid Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro . Rosstandart allowed the installation of square license plates on the front of the car, the State Duma adopted in first reading a bill on the exchange of double VAT on the resale of used cars, and the traffic police found a way to rein in electric scooters . Details are in the video review of the AvtoVzglyad portal.

AVTOVAZ subsidiary LADA Sport has started production of the new Vesta Sportline. Sales are expected to begin in late November, but prices have not yet been announced. As for the LADA Niva Sport, the premiere, as it was recently announced, will take place in 2024. The SUV will also receive a number of improvements – both in terms of design and technology.

Moreover, the coming week will be remembered for a slew of new products from Chinese automakers. First, the Ora brand entered the Russian market. Secondly, Changan launched the updated CS95 crossover, and Chery launched hybrid modifications Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. In the foreseeable future, the Foton Tunland pick-up and eight new cars from Dongfeng will also appear in showrooms, including the brutal Mengshi M-Hero with 1000 hp.

But enough about the Chinese! There was also social news this week. The first is that now in Russia you can install square license plates not only on the back, but also on the front of the car. For three years, Rosstandart held out, calling such an innovation inappropriate, but eventually relented. Secondly, the State Duma supported in first reading a bill on the exchange of double VAT on the resale of used cars between legal entities.

And finally, good news for residents of megacities who are fed up with crazy people on electric scooters. In Moscow, they started an experiment to identify traffic violators on personal mobility devices using cameras. The timing isn’t the best, as the season is almost over, but still. The complexes can recognize leaving the lane, crossing a zebra crossing without getting off, as well as joint rides – when two people ride on one scooter.

Meanwhile, the “A Just Russia – For the Truth” party has submitted a bill to the State Duma proposing to tighten penalties for electric scooter riders, up to 15 days of arrest. Such measures, if the initiative is supported, will be applied to those who are repeatedly caught significantly speeding or drink driving.
