According to the Chinese Cars portal, photos from the production line of one of the first assembled BAIC X7s showed black crossovers with the Fengon lettering on the trunk lid. This is a 2020 Dongfeng ix7 all-wheel drive crossover, which Avtotor said nothing about production.
But last week, Dongfeng’s official Russian distributor, the Motorinvest company, announced the expansion of the brand’s line from three to eleven models – the list of future new products includes the ix7. Moreover, Avtotor Vostok has already registered Wind Rus LLC, and it clearly refers to the Dongfeng brand, the name of which translates as “East Wind”.
The seven-seater crossover with dimensions 4930 x 1935 x 1765 mm is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces 231 hp. Of. and a 6-speed automatic transmission. In China it is sold for 125,900 – 215,900 yuan, which at the current exchange rate is about 1.6-2.7 million rubles. Official plans for Dongfeng ix7 assembly may be announced closer to 2024.
