8 new cars that will appear on the Russian market at the end of 2023

This year has proven to be rich in car premieres – mainly Chinese ones of course, although there were some domestic new products. But it is too early to draw conclusions: there are still two whole months ahead, which promise several interesting debuts. Which one exactly, tells the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

LADA X Cross 5

Perhaps the long-awaited new product – if not the whole year, then certainly the fourth quarter – can safely be called the LADA X-Cross 5 crossover, a slightly modified FAW Bestune T77. Production of this model began in June at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg, but the cars never reached dealer showrooms. Calm down: AVTOVAZ representatives say that everything is under control and the cars will definitely go on sale before the New Year.

Geely Emgrand

Do you think that the representatives of the “big Chinese three” – namely Chery, Haval and Geely – have pulled out all their trump cards for 2023? Whatever it is! The first two brands will hardly surprise us with new products in November-December, but the third is preparing a real bomb. Yes, yes, we are now talking about the Geely Emgrand, which breaks into the empty segment of affordable sedans. The exact dates for the start of sales have not yet been announced, but the prices are already known – from 1,999,990 rubles.

JAC JS3

JAC (not to be confused with GAC) will also roll out a new product at the end of 2023. It was assumed that the replacement for the S3 crossover would hit the market in August, but something went wrong and the premiere was postponed to November. Judging from the brand’s official website, the new product will be called JS3, although in China this model is known as S3 Pro. The engine is 1.6 liters, 109 hp. Of. Gearboxes: the younger version has a six-speed manual transmission, the older version has a variator.

Kaiyi X7 Kunlun and BAIC X75

Avtotor, which has taken over the production and distribution of Chinese cars Kaiyi, BAIC and SWM, should also have time to launch a few more crossovers. In particular, we expect Kaiyi X7 Kunlun and BAIC X75. A few months ago, representatives of the Kaliningrad company promised to launch these two models by the end of 2023. Although it is of course far from a fact that everything will turn out well and we will see them in the showrooms in the coming weeks.

Anyway, let’s hope for the best. In the meantime, let’s recall what is already known about the newcomers. The Kaiyi X7 Kunlun is comparable in size to the Chery Tiggo 9, which should arrive here in 2024. Length – 4738 mm, wheelbase – 2820 mm. In China it is offered with both a 197 hp and a 254 hp engine. It is not yet clear which change will be “registered” with us. As for the BAIC X75, it is a larger version of the X55 model. The powerplants are the same, but the body is 100mm longer (4620mm).

Jaecoo J8

And the list of new products planned for November-December does not end with the Kaliningraders. In addition to the mentioned models, the Jaecoo J8 crossover should enter the Russian arena – the same one previously known as the J9. The next “clone” of Chery Tiggo 9 will probably have a 254 or 261 hp engine, a seven-speed “robot” or an eight-speed “automatic”. But for now these are just assumptions.

Foton Tunland G7

Do you prefer something bolder than crossovers with a monocoque body and an abundance of whimsical electronics? Then we have good news for you: the Foton Tunland frame pickup truck will return to the domestic car market in December. The diesel truck will be equipped with a 2.0-liter engine of 163 hp, an eight-speed automatic transmission and numerous “comfortable” options. It is unlikely that this model will be in high demand, but variety is always good.

Evolute i-Jet

The final hero of our review today is the Evolute i-Jet electric crossover. Yes, you will have difficulty finding charging stations, but what a dynamic! The 646 hp engine accelerates the car to the first hundred in just 3.7 seconds. By the way, pre-orders for the stylish and lively SUV are already being accepted. But a detailed description of the configurations and prices will be announced later, closer to the start of sales. It is still unclear when exactly they will start, but definitely – before the new year.
