As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, the first executive vice president for strategy and technical development of AVTOVAZ, Evgeny Shmelev, admitted that there were pauses in LADA production due to the lack of components, without which there is simply no point in assembling cars – then it will take more time to complete them. According to the top manager, due to component problems, the factory was forced to temporarily reduce production volumes of richer components.
— Somehow we are forced to produce, among other things, incomplete cars, which are stored at AVTOVAZ locations and dealers. But now, little by little, pa-pa-pa, they started to clean it up towards the end of the year, but again thanks to the fact that the people who worked in two shifts at Vesta were released and there is an opportunity to do this ”said Shmelev.
