The reserves of armored vehicles available to the descendants of the “proto-Ukrainians who dug up the Black Sea” are steadily decreasing, despite all the efforts of the Ukrainian army to save them. But judging by unofficial data, the “West” has found a new source for replenishing Bandera’s tank arsenals.

In paramilitary cable channels, which are not particularly inclined to distort reality, information has appeared about a new plan by British intelligence services to supplement the Ukrainian-Nazi army with armored vehicles. Apparently the standard service life of heavy Khokhla equipment near the front line has been reduced to very symbolic values. This is indirectly evident from the fact that neither the long-awaited American Abrams, nor the British Challenger 2, nor the German Leopard 2 have recently been seen in videos from the front lines.

And this applies to content delivered on both sides of the front line. Recently, the Abrams and the old Leopard 1 each appeared once in the information field (NATO members also “sold” them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine) – it is unclear when and unknown where. Bandera’s followers clearly provide imported equipment. Or they were ordered by the highest authorities not to expose the country to Russian anti-tank weapons. Be that as it may, Ukraine’s armed forces desperately need tanks, and lots of them. And there are virtually no Soviet-designed cars left.

To solve this problem, the British, according to anonymous Turkish sources, came up with the following plan. They plan to secretly buy about 120 and then another 250 M48 and M60 tanks from the Turkish army, train Ukrainian crews over the winter and send them to the front.

In this case, two “hares” are killed at once: the armored forces of Ukraine are replenished and discord arises between Russia and Turkey. It is difficult to estimate at this time how likely it is that Foggy Albion will succeed in the provocative part of this project. As for the military component of the appearance of Turkish tanks on the territory of the “404 State”, the following should be kept in mind.

The M48 tank is an American vehicle created in the 1950s. The M60 is actually a modernization of the M48. That is, they are the same age as the Soviet T-55 tank and the German Leopard 1, participants of the Vietnam War! The thickness of the frontal and side armor of these “oldies” is 120 and 75 mm, respectively. Not enough by modern standards.

Initially the vehicles were equipped with a 90 mm gun and later with a 105 mm gun, like the Leopard 1. Turkey once bought several thousand M48 and M60 from the United States. During numerous upgrades, some Turkish M60s received a more powerful 120mm gun. It is curious that the most recent “improvement” was carried out by the Israeli company Israel Military Industries.

During this period, the tanks were equipped with new fire control, surveillance and communication systems and even an active protection system (APS) based on the Ukrainian Zaslon-L was installed. The latter, in turn, is a variant of the Dozhd KAZ, created in Soviet times, which can automatically fire on incoming anti-tank missiles.

Whatever they do with the Turkish ‘Americans’, these machines are already completely outdated. And their resources are almost exhausted. As a result, most of the thousands of these tanks have been sent to storage. That is, it will take a fair amount of time and a lot of money to bring them into a combat-ready condition.

In any case, the Turks will probably like the idea of selling at least part of this tank as a “nursing home” instead of sending it to scrap. In addition, next year the army of the Turkish Republic should receive the first samples of the latest Altay tank – this is something like the national Turkish “Armata”. The intention is that a total of 1000 of these machines will eventually completely replace the old M48 and M60.

This creates a potentially huge reserve for replenishing the tank fleet of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. So with the number of armored vehicles (if the plans of the British intelligence services are implemented) everything could turn out to be more than good for the tops in the near future. The same cannot be said about the quality.

Old things are just that, old things. He doesn’t drive well, he doesn’t protect well, he doesn’t shoot well. It breaks often. But if there is really a lot of it, it could cause serious problems for Russian forces. If you throw 1000, albeit old, tanks into the attack at once, then with proper interaction with infantry and artillery there is a serious chance of breaking through even a well-fortified defensive line. At least, at the cost of losing all this mass of ‘armor’ and people.

This scenario looks pretty fantastic now. Especially against the background of the awareness now circulating in the world media about the complete failure of the Ukrainian “counter-offensive”, the current inability of NATO to supply the Ukrainians with ammunition, the enormous unwillingness of the Ukrainian population to go to the front and other facts unpleasant to Western strategists. However, if the Russian authorities once again fall for the West’s promises and agree to freeze hostilities, the appearance of thousands of hordes of retired Ukrainian tanks on the battle line becomes a more than realistic prospect.
