The Russian company Atom has published an image of a modernized steering wheel for its electric car of the same name. The futuristic ‘steering wheel’ with built-in display was given extra buttons and switches.

In the official community of the company Atom on the social network VKontakte, a new steering wheel for the future domestic electric car of Naberezhnye Chelny was presented. The manufacturer emphasizes that the shape of the steering wheel has become more ergonomic, it now has built-in steering column switches – like on Ferrari supercars – and additional buttons. The most important feature – the color screen on the hub – will of course remain. Atom says this device is not just a steering wheel, but a “command center for driving an electric vehicle: its multimedia and user systems.”

The developers also note a certain intuitive operating system that makes this design possible, as well as “two control options: in touch mode or using joysticks.” A similar system is used in some racing models, for example in Formula 1 cars, reminiscent of the Atom. However, the display on the steering wheel can also be found in production cars – for example in crossovers from the Chinese brand Li Auto.
