Only the deaf have not heard that the assembly of the Renault Duster crossovers was hastily transferred from Moscow, where the rather successful Renault Russia plant suddenly became Moskvich with no clear prospects. In addition, steel was transferred to AVTOVAZ. The AvtoVzglyad portal decided to find out how quickly the former Renault crossover will turn into a Lada.

It is worth recognizing that AVTOVAZ always comments very carefully on events. In particular, a cautious message has now come from Tolyatti regarding the future LADA Duster, that “AvtoVAZ does not officially confirm this information.”

Meanwhile, another rumor has already grown on the web: allegedly, instead of powerful engines – turbocharged and atmospheric, which came from Europe – the crossover will receive a pure VAZ 1.8, which is known from Vesta. True, there is no reliable confirmation of this information.

As the AvtoVzglyad portal was told in the AvtoVAZ press service, in the week that has passed since the transfer of French assets to new Russian owners, “such a decision is simply impossible to make.”

On our behalf, we add that if the Duster really comes out of the capital, it will be produced on line B0, where LADA Largus and Renault Logan, also built on the European Global Access platform, are considered the main “owners” .

As for the auto parts necessary for the urgent “Russification” of the popular “state employee”, then, in addition to Romania, Renault brand SUVs are made in other countries – Nigeria, India, Colombia and Brazil. So in theory parts can be ordered there.

In general, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, future LADA models will be based solely on Russian technologies and developments, including platforms created by domestic specialists. But there are doubts that big words will turn into deeds.
