The Volzhsky Automobile Plant plans to increase car production to 500 thousand units by 2024. According to the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, the company is “moving forward with confidence.”

As RIA Novosti reported, during an extended meeting of the Chelyabinsk company SoyuzMash from Russia, where the 2023 results were summarized, the top manager promised to increase production volumes next year: “Our production plan this year is about 400,000 cars. Each car consists of more than 4.5 thousand parts. In 2024, we plan to increase our production volume by more than a quarter, exceed the target of 500,000 cars and thus respond to external challenges,” said Mr. Sokolov.

At the same time, however, at the recent Transport of Russia forum, he was not so optimistic, noting that AVTOVAZ could reduce its production plan for the current year. Sokolov said that due to the repeated failure of “logistical and financial chains,” the plant may not be able to assemble the promised 400,000 LADA units.

The correction, he said, “will be within 10% for an obvious reason: the sanctions caused the logistics and financial chains to fail again.” I wonder what will change for the company in the coming year?
