Genesis presented a restyled G80 model, which received a number of improvements in the spirit of another recently updated “eighty” – the GV80. The sedan has been slightly modified in appearance and much more striking in the interior.

Like the brand’s flagship crossover, the updated sedan can now be recognized by its narrow Two-Line LED headlights with micro-lens technology. The radiator grille is also new, with double mesh, although the shape remains the same. The bumpers have also been updated: the front one of the Sports Package version has better developed air intakes.

The rear one stands out for its V-shaped false exhaust pipes; the real pipes are hidden behind the bumper. The G80 also received new wheels and a Brooklyn Brown exterior color, bringing the number of available colors to ten. Inside, the changes are much more apparent.

Like the GV80, the sedan has lost a separate ‘tablet’ for the multimedia system. Following current fashion, the dashboard and touchscreen are combined into a 27-inch widescreen cluster. The shape of the center console has changed, the climate control unit looks different and new “rings” have appeared for controlling the transmission and the multimedia system.

There is much less “wood” in the cabin, but the interior is decorated with a new three-spoke steering wheel, which is very similar to the “steering wheels” of the modern Mercedes-Benz. Even with the G80 Sport package, the rim is cut off at the bottom, as if it were a Mercedes-AMG.

But there’s no word on technology yet – it’s promised that all details will be announced closer to the release of the updated G80 to the market. We can probably expect a similar range to the updated GV80: a 2.5 T-GDI engine with an output of 304 hp. Of. and 3.5 V6 T-GDI with 380 hp. The GV80 Coupe modification featured the G6DV hybrid six with a 48-volt eS/C electric supercharger producing 415 horsepower.
