The Russian government has extended the ban on the entry of trucks from the European Union, Britain, Norway and Ukraine into the country. The restriction “will remain in effect until the circumstances that formed the basis for its introduction have been eliminated.”
As reported in the Russian government’s official Telegram channel, an exception will only be made for the transport of postal items, diplomatic mail and humanitarian aid. Now the restriction on entry into Russia will not apply to technical support trucks transporting equipment and sports cars to competition venues.
Let us not forget that the ban on the entry of European and Ukrainian trucks into Russia was introduced last year in response to the EU’s decision not to allow heavy trucks with Russian and Belarusian license plates into its territory. Naturally, this measure will remain in force until the European authorities lift their restrictions. On September 8, the European Commission also published a clarification according to which Russians are not allowed to enter EU countries in cars with Russian license plates.
