In fact, experts in the domestic auto industry are well aware that the history of the Silant car began 15 years ago, when NAMI produced a prototype of a universal truck. The car was recognized as successful, after which about 500 such SUVs were made.
In 2015, the Silant production moved from Veliky Novgorod to Vladimir. But not for long: the local tractor factory ordered a long life, so the model had to look for a new registration place. They became the Cheboksary factory of power units.
In itself, the development of NAMI is a chassis with a load capacity of 3 to 8 tons. Off-road vehicles can be used as a commercial vehicle, forest patrol complex, multi-purpose vehicle for special needs.
The model is based on a spars frame, on which a frame-panel cabin of the original design is installed. At the request of the customer, the truck can be equipped with MMZ, YaMZ or Cummins engines, and the choice of gearboxes is limited to SAAZ and ZF.
We add that the first all-terrain vehicle of the Cheboksary assembly will go to the Republic of Kazakhstan to work in a quarry. The machine will spray the technological roads of the quarry to “nail” the dust thrown up by dump trucks.
