Chery Tiggo 7 Pro earned five stars in the crash test

The most popular crossover of the Chery brand on the Russian market, the mid-sized Tiggo 7 Pro, received five stars according to the crash test results of the Australian-Asian safety rating program ANCAP. The car was tested according to four important criteria.

According to Chery’s press service, the SUV earned 88% of a possible 100 points for the protection of adult passengers, 87% for the protection of children, 72% for the protection of pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists, and 86% for the operation of electronic safety systems. Such high ratings were ensured by airbags and a load-bearing body frame, the manufacturer notes.

During testing with the ANCAP method, the work of the driving assistants is checked: how effectively the car keeps itself in its lane and performs an emergency stop in traffic jams and at intersections.

In the meantime, the ‘Rescue and Evacuation’ section will appear in the updated test regulations from 2023. Vehicles receive extra points for being functional in opening doors and windows when submerged in water, as well as for having windows that operate smoothly or have a window breaker. Of the nine cars assessed by ANCAP this year, three performed well in these metrics, including the Tiggo 7 Pro.
