Based on Avtostat Info’s research, cars of Russian brands account for 32.7% of the fleet, or 14,437,045 cars. The leader in popularity among brands remains LADA – there are 12.28 million cars of Tolyatti origin in the country.
Toyota, the leader among foreign cars, is second in the rankings with 3.78 million vehicles. Kia is in third place – we have 2.62 million Korean cars, followed by Hyundai (2.32 million units) and Renault (2.18 million units).
But the most common car in Russia is the VAZ-2107: 1.26 million sedans travel around the country. Kia Rio is in second place with a result of 1.02 million cars. Third place again goes to the representative of the domestic automotive industry – VAZ-2109: there are still a million copies in Russia. Two other Russian models are slightly behind the “nine”: LADA Niva (956,500 units) and LADA Granta (932,300 units).
