The network received a factory order, which means that AVTOVAZ will not resume production next week. The document was signed two days before the board of directors of the company entered Maxim Sokolov. But the former deputy governor of St. Petersburg immediately promised the team to resume car production “literally early next month.”

The downtime order was published on the VK social network in the Atypical AvtoVAZ community. It follows that due to the lack of components, the production of machines is halted until 3 June.

Consider that the company has been operating on periodic breaks for about a year. This is due to the lack of electronic components. And after Renault announced its withdrawal from Russia, the situation only got worse.

It was previously reported that the manufacturer could still negotiate with Chinese companies about the supply of components. But due to the strict lockdowns in China related to the coronavirus pandemic, the necessary spare parts and assemblies could not be delivered on time. The new top manager will have to fix these issues, and it would be good if this happened soon, and the finished cars started rolling off the assembly line at least on June 6. Otherwise, buyers will be without even the “simplified” versions of LADA Granta, which promised to arrive at car dealers in the second half of June.
