AVTOVAZ resumed production of the LADA Vesta with a CVT and released a ‘trial version’ Niva Travel with ‘advanced’ multimedia. Evolute revealed the features of the i-Space crossover, Kaiyi announced prices for the X7 Kunlun, Jetour clarified the timing of the T2 launch, Chery announced another sub-brand. Meanwhile, the State Duma rejected a bill banning private cameras that record traffic violations, and one of the deputies drew attention to the “offensive” term “speed bump.” All details are in the video review of the AvtoVzglyad portal.
According to insiders, the supplier of the continuously variable transmission for LADA Vesta was, as expected, the Chinese WanLiYang. The CVT accompanies the recently renewed 122 hp engine. Of. – the same power plant powers the ‘premium’ LADA Aura. At the same time, the residents of Tolyatti also put together a sample copy of the Niva Travel with the Enjoy Pro multimedia system – this, we remember, was installed on the mid-range Vesta.
And Evolute this week released technical details of its first hybrid model, the front-wheel drive i-Space crossover. It will have a power plant with a total power of 290 hp. The maximum range is 1150 km. Claimed fuel consumption is 5.5 liters per hundred. Prices have not yet been announced, but the cost of Kaiyi’s new product – the flagship crossover X7 Kunlun – is already known.
As recently became known, in March the Jetour T2 crossover, a car with quite impressive off-road capabilities for its class, will also be added to the showrooms of Russian dealers. And in the summer – Exlantix ES, an electric sedan from the next Chery sub-brand. The Chinese decided to introduce this brand to the domestic market, despite the fact that we do not prefer battery-powered cars.
There was also “social” news: most importantly, the State Duma rejected a bill banning the use of systems for automatic recording of traffic violations, except those owned by the state. But LDPR delegates, convinced that private owners of such cameras are using dishonest schemes to increase profitability, vowed to complete the project and try again.
And more about these and other main events in the country’s automotive life over the past week – with facts, figures and commentary – in the video overview of the AvtoVzglyad portal, which you can watch Here.
