Tesla is about to build the first charging station in the network, combining a cinema, a restaurant, a bar, and the devices themselves for charging electric cars.

According to Electrek, citing design documents, the two-story building will appear in Hollywood along Santa Monica Boulevard. In its parking lot, 34 cars will be able to charge at the same time while their owners watch movies or eat.

On the ground floor of the charging station, a kitchen, tables and chairs will be placed, including in the open air. Also, waiters will be able to take out food to visitors waiting for the car. There is now a pizzeria on the chosen site, which is likely to be demolished soon. The parking lot will have 29 Supercharger stands and five more regular ones.

Several tables and a bar counter will be placed on the second floor, where two rows of chairs will also be placed, as in a cinema hall. There will be two screens with a diagonal of 13.7 meters – one on the roof, and the second one will be seen sitting in cars in the parking lot. It is planned to show only short films lasting about half an hour, so that visitors have time to watch while charging.

The restaurant, capable of serving 218 people at the same time, will work around the clock, and the cinema from 7 am to 11 pm.

Tesla is not the first company to decorate the process of charging electric cars. Previously, Electrify America showed a similar mixed-use space project with a focus on comfort and safety – a lounge area, security cameras, awnings, solar panels and an event space.
