On May 27, AVTOVAZ assembled several Renault Sandero Stepway hatchbacks, the last cars of the French brand made by the Russian auto giant, reports the Atypical AVTOVAZ audience of the UK social network.
What happens next is known only to a select few. So, the governor of the Samara region, Dmitry Azarov, assures that in a while Togliatti will be able to produce both Sandero hatchbacks and Duster crossovers, but under the LADA brand.
In turn, “Atypical AvtoVAZ” proves that the production lines of parts and components for the production of these models will be closed indefinitely. And this pause can be quite long.
Therefore, the only conclusion that can be drawn for now is the following: popular “state employees” will certainly not be produced under the Renault brand. But whether their assembly under the LADA brand will resume depends on the conditions under which the French will leave Russia. So we will have to wait for new details.
