Has the country’s most controversial “car reviewer” decided to play with the law again? The well-known businessman Mikhail Teplov and his wife filed a lawsuit against the founder of the Smotra community, Erik Davidich, accusing them of fraud on a particularly large scale. According to them, the “fast Georgian” defrauded his family for money and for an expensive foreign car.

As Mr. Teplov stated, in December 2021, while on vacation in the UAE, car blogger Eric Davidich offered the businessman’s wife to buy out her BMW X5M Competition for 10,000,000 rubles. The car was not used by the family and was put up for sale for 11,700,000 rubles, but “out of friendship” the businessman agreed to give the car at a hefty discount. True, he has not received any money from the “fast Georgian” so far.

According to Mr. Teplov, Eric did not contact for a long time and then he started threatening all over. True, after the blogger was filed with the police, he still agreed to return the money. However, the family apparently did not want to resolve the situation out of court. The injured party’s lawyer, Nikita Nekrasov, saw in the actions of previously convicted Eric Kituashvili signs of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud on a particularly large scale”. The maximum sentence threatening the suspect is up to 10 years in prison.

Recall that in 2016 the founder of the Smotra car community was already prosecuted for similar crimes and even managed to “serve” it. Independent experts, as well as some of the blogger’s colleagues in the store, are sure that after spending some time behind bars, Davidich agreed to “work” for law enforcement agencies. For this, in effect, the recruited opinion leader was released from prison.
