Rumors that Avtodor is planning to build a toll route around the northern capital have been circulating long ago. Later, representatives of the state-owned company confirmed them, saying that the development of tracking options is already underway. Now, in the forum of road initiatives “Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transport Systems in Road Construction”, the estimated conditions for the construction of a new highway have become known.
– We are now conducting a feasibility study into various options, after which the final choice is made. It’s early next year. In the five-year plan, which we are now discussing, the funds for the construction of this highway have already been allocated,” said Vyacheslav Petushenko, chairman of the board of directors of the state-owned company Avtodor.
In other words, by early 2023, road workers will have a clear picture of the route. However, according to Mr. Petushenko, the state-owned enterprises will not start designing until 2025. And in 2027 the new toll road should ‘go’. However, these are only indicative dates and are therefore subject to change. Especially given the current situation, anti-Russian sanctions negatively affecting the industry.
