According to L’argus, the new Duster will replace the Global Access platform with CMF-B. This means the transition from the crossover to a more prestigious SUV class, because the new “trolley” allows you to install modern electronic assistants on the car and abandon the traditional all-wheel drive with a cardan shaft and a clutch.
Instead, the Duster gets a hybrid drive, in which the rear wheels are no longer connected to the power source. They are powered by a separate electric motor. For example, a similar scheme has long been applied by the Stellantis concern to various Peugeot models.
In addition, the “third” Duster loses its diesel engine. Instead, an E-Tech petrol-electric unit, known from a number of other Renault models, will be placed under the hood.
In appearance, the novelty will resemble the Bigster concept, which was shown last year. Perhaps, to match the ideological donor, it will even “grow up” in size. We’ll see soon though. Or not anymore?
