DeLorean Motor Company continues the teaser campaign for the successor to the DeLorean DMC-12 coupe, which became iconic thanks to the Back to the Future film franchise.

On Twitter, the company showed part of the car – and in the light, unlike earlier teasers – and announced the date of the premiere: it is scheduled for August 18. The novelty, which will receive an electric power plant, will be presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The new teaser reveals part of the rear and roof of the DeLorean, which features smoother lines than the coupe from the 80s. Also, the novelty got outstanding wings, and instead of “pixel” lights, three narrow LED strips. At the same time, the designers borrowed from the original grille, which on the new DeLorean is neatly integrated into the rear window.

Early teasers also showed the DMC-12’s gullwing door, as well as a raised hood and a broken V-shaped diode strip at the front. The ItalDesign company, which participated in the creation of the original coupe, is working on the design.

Tweets with teasers are accompanied by the #DeloreanEVolved tag. This is probably the name of the novelty, which indicates the evolution of the sports car and the electric power plant – EV. There is no confirmed data about it yet, but it was previously reported that a platform could form the basis that allows the use of electric motors with a total output of up to 1360 horsepower.
