According to Konstantin Makiyev, deputy chairman of the board for operator activities and user services development of the Avtodor Group of Companies, traffic along the central ring road is free. And the only area where congestion can occur is the fifth launch complex (a free fragment of the “ring” from the village of Zhedochi, Naro-Fominsk district to M10 “Russia”). Indeed, unlike others, there are intersections, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and other “obstacles”.
In turn, Vyacheslav Petushenko, chairman of the board of directors of Avtodor State Corporation, added that even if there was a real problem, it would be solved quickly, since there is already a worked out plan. So, during the construction of the Losev and Pavlovsk toll bypass, road workers blocked the way for trucks to the M4 Don highway (a fragment where the scheme was carried out) from Friday evening to Sunday.
“We understand that this is an additional cost for trucks as we drive them at night, but it has enabled us to cope with the increased traffic. And we are ready to accept trucks on the central ring road at any time of the day or night,” noted Mr Petushenko in an interview with an AvtoVzglyad columnist.
By the way, in the near future, the same scheme is planned to be applied to the M4 section from Dzhubga to Novorossiysk, where traffic is difficult even without trucks. The state-owned company considers the measure necessary, because very soon motorists’ holidays will rush to the Black Sea coast, which will be much more than usual this year.
