By the way, the GAZ group already has a successful example of the commercial operation of “volt-ampere” machines. The first Russian commercial electric vehicle, the Gazelle e-NN, was released in 2020. And since last summer, Gazelle e-NN electric buses have been running on a fixed passenger route in Nizhny Novgorod: from the airport to the Park Kultury metro station.
“They have driven more than 50,000 kilometers, carried more than 20,000 passengers and charged at fast charging stations, so they are not standing still,” Aleksey Likhachev, director of strategy and digital technologies at GAZ Group, told the Avtovzglyad portal. — We also have other e-mobility cases, we get regular feedback from customers, this allows us to draw conclusions that are relevant for the further development of e-mobility.
A company representative notes that in order to form a market for commercial electric vehicles, end-user incentives are needed – especially subsidies to make the costs of “hydrocarbon” and battery cars proportionate, tax incentives and others. And then electric cars really become interesting for business.
