During a meeting with members of the government, the head of state, Vladimir Putin, outlined the direction for further development of the country’s road infrastructure. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

– “I think we should … not only equip roads in the largest cities and agglomerations, but organize this work everywhere. Namely, bring at least 85% of the country’s entire backbone road network into a standard state over the next five years,” Vladimir Putin said at the event.

According to him, the government has all the resources and possibilities for this. He also stressed that the construction and reconstruction of the road network “must be synchronized with the development of logistics corridors, including international ones.” He also confirmed that the government plans to extend the M12 Moscow-Kazan toll road to Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk. In addition, Putin promised to get to grips with the issue of road construction in the Far East in the near future.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin, who attended the meeting, said that according to the results of the five-year road construction plan, the plan is to build and reconstruct about 4,000 kilometers of roads. In total, 13.2 trillion rubles will be allocated from the budget for these purposes.
