According to a survey by Russian Standard Bank published by Gazeta.ru, Russian car owners are 35% less likely to carry out body repairs, painting and various types of tuning. The survey also shows that the demand for spare parts and accessories for passenger cars has fallen by 26%, despite the fact that they have increased in price by 16%. By the way, no solution to this problem is expected in the near future, and the situation will not get better even if the parallel import starts to work and the shortage problem is solved.
The fact is that the incomes of the population are falling and many people prefer to buy only the most important spare parts. The shortage of spare parts leads to an increase in thefts. Basically, cars are stolen for the purpose of parsing parts. And Tinkoff Insurance predicts an increase in the theft of individual parts. This applies to wheels, optics, side mirrors.
It is also interesting to note that, compared to last spring, the demand for car washes has increased by 16%, but the average check, on the contrary, has decreased by 15% (to 430 rubles). This suggests that citizens have started counting money here too. They increasingly wash the car themselves at automatic car washes, or do not take services such as interior cleaning and limit themselves to a simple wash.
