According to the press service of the Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, where the Aurus plant is located, “there is currently no shortage of spare parts and components at the enterprise.” At the same time, Timur Shagivaleev, Director General of the SEZ, noted that the Senat model is localized for about 60%, that is, foreign components make up about 40%.

– Ahead of us are the times when all components of the car must be 100% localized in our country, – stated Mr. Shagivaleev confidently.

However, this proposition is a pure utopia: it is physically or economically impossible to achieve the production of absolutely all parts in the country. However, this is when the word “import substitution” is used more often than any other word.

And in general, according to the AvtoVzglyad portal, in reality Aurus is located much less than 60%. Cylinder block castings are minimally marked “Made in Germany”. And there are also plenty of other components from Europe and China within the “Senates”…

By the way, as the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said personally earlier, European parts for the assembly of “Aurus” were purchased for future use, so those who want to buy a luxury car assembled in Tatarstan will have no problems .
