O Uber announced this week the expansion of the category “a priority“. This modality arrived in Brazil in October 2021 and allows the user to pay more to get priority in the request. Now seven more cities in the country receive the resource.

According to Uber, the Priority category is slightly smaller than the UberX category and was originally available in the city center. The launch took place in Campinas, Curitiba and Belém. Now extended to the following cities:

You can request the Priority category in the same way as others. Simply sign in to the Uber app, enter your start and end destinations, and select the “Priority” option. Uber ensures that the new functionality offers the same quality and safety standards as all Uber ride mechanisms. In addition, the company said that the resource does not have a fixed working time, it monitors the dynamics of traffic in the city.

A series of new features

Over the past few weeks, Uber has announced a number of new features and expanded others. Some cities have received the Uber Planet modality, which compensates for the lack of carbon emissions, as well as the obligation to take photos to book cash-paid rides. The latest innovation is the ability to pay via pix.

Uber announced in an official statement on Tuesday (24) that it will accept the PIX transaction method as a form of payment for Uber rides within the country. The novelty is being implemented gradually and the company confirmed that by the end of July it should be available to all users of the application.

According to the information, payment through Pix is ​​made directly to the platform, and not to the partner driver. After the trip, the company will make payment to its partner drivers.

The company notes that payments through Pix do not require a confirmation selfie, as is the case with the cash payment method. We emphasize that if you still do not have a payment method through Pix, you will have to wait for the release of Uber, which should happen for all users by the end of July.
