As for electric vehicles of Chinese origin, under the regulations introduced at the end of last year and the recently announced GSR2 regulations, car imports cannot be carried out unless the specified conditions are met, subject to the published notice.
In the process, not only Hozon Neta, but also many Chinese cars with a 100 percent electric infrastructure could not be imported into Turkey, and some distributors switched to importing hybrid vehicles.
In this context, we at GRS Automobility have decided to temporarily suspend the retail activities in Turkey of Neta Auto, which produces exclusively cars with a 100% electric infrastructure.
During the process, our GRS Automobility Showroom in Kagithane was temporarily shut down and our employees were redeployed to different units within the group companies.
Our work continues at full speed for the continuity of retail activities; In the context of B2B activities, car maintenance, spare parts and after-sales services will continue for 10 years with the certainty and quality of GRS Automobility, and the vehicles will be sold with short and long-term rental options. In order to avoid any inconvenience for our retail customers, their vehicles were returned on favorable terms.
During this temporary period, our negotiations and feasibility studies with the Turkish distributor of Neta Auto regarding production and investment opportunities in Turkey are actively continuing and there is no possibility of the brand withdrawing from Turkey. We continue our efforts to restart retail operations as soon as possible and serve our valuable consumers again.
We are closely following the developments around Carver, the micromobility brand of which we are the distributor, which has not yet started sales activities in Turkey. Carver is currently looking for solutions and new investors to get out of the situation it is in. We are actively evaluating potential investment and production opportunities in Turkey, simultaneously with the Carver brand.
As GRS Automobility, part of our group company with 40 years of experience in the automotive sector and investments in many different sectors, we declare and strongly commit ourselves that we will not and will not make our consumers victims today, as in the past, with a high sense of responsibility.
In addition to the investments we make in our country, our commitment to our consumers is always at the highest level. We will continue to share with you the current information and developments regarding our activities in Turkey.
