Mercedes-Benz presented the Gelendvagen, ideal for a Russian

What should be the ideal “Gelendvagen”? Any Russian can answer this question. The first is fast, the second is reasonable, the third is expensive. Otherwise what’s the point of buying a “square” legend, if a turner or auto mechanic can afford such a machine? And now the Mercedes-Benz brand has prepared a new top version of the Gelika, which meets all the above requirements.

We immediately explain why the price of the novelty will be prohibitive: the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4 will be released in a very limited edition, behind which a row of collectors and resellers has managed to push. And this is understandable! In Stuttgart it was decided that a bright electric future awaits the “three-shining star” and therefore the current generation of the G-class will be the last with an internal combustion engine under the hood. And all fans of gasoline traction are in a hurry to “grab” the legendary V8.

For all G 63s, including the new version, it produces up to 585 forces. The transmission uses a 9-speed hydromechanical “automatic” transmission with a four-wheel drive system, supplemented by lockouts for all three differentials.

But the main feature of the special edition is the presence of portal bridges. With them, the indicated ground clearance is greater than 35 centimeters and the maximum fording depth is 900 millimeters.

The manufacturer promises to publish other features and a shocking price tag later. In the meantime, only a closed show of an acid-green car has passed, from which several photos have been managed to “leak”.
